Job Description
As a senior rigging systems creator (Senior Rigger) at Ubisoft Montreal, you will contribute to creating high-quality character rigs in 3DS Max and integrating them into our game engine. You will support the AAA animation pipeline and develop systems tailored to a character-driven game.
What you will do:
- Create user-friendly character rigs in 3DS Max;
- Develop efficient skinning, deformation, and control systems;
- Ensure reliable export and integration into the game engine;
- Support and improve animation pipelines and workflows;
- Troubleshoot rig, deformation, and engine integration issues;
- Optimize rigs for real-time performance;
- Collaborate with animation, technical art direction, and programming teams;
- Contribute to pipeline tools and best practices.
Qualifications
- Experience as a rigger in the video game industry;
- Mastery of rigging pipelines in 3DS Max;
- Good understanding of deformation, skinning, and control systems;
- Experience with Python scripting for rigging pipelines;
- Experience on AAA game productions;
- Understanding of real-time performance constraints and game engines;
- Strong problem-solving skills and good knowledge of production pipelines;
- Experience with facial rigging using joint-based systems, blendshapes, or hybrid approaches.
