Job Description

Looking for Philippines-based candidates

Job Role: Part-Time Google Ads & SEO Specialist

Compensation range: $1,000 AUD/month

Engagement type: Independent Contractor Agreement

Work Schedule: This role is expected to align with the AU business hours for collaboration, but as a contractor, you’ll have flexibility in how you manage your time. This is a part-time role of 20 hours/week.

Who We Are: At Hunt St, we help Australian companies hire top remote talent in the Philippines. For this role, you will be engaged directly by the client as an independent contractor. We are not an outsourcing agency. All of our roles are 100% remote so you'll be able to work from home.

Who The Client Is: Our client is a long-standing Australian, family-owned business specialising in high-quality window furnishings for residential and commercial properties. With decades of industry experience, they provide tailored solutions including blinds, shutters, curtains, and outdoor shading systems. Known for their personalised service and attention to detail, they focus on delivering functional, stylish, and long-lasting results for every project.

Role Overview: To increase qualified leads and reduce cost per lead through hands-on management of our Google Ads account (approximately $4,000 AUD/month in ad spend), alongside SEO and keyword tracking for our website. Google Ads is the main priority, with SEO supporting longer-term growth in organic enquiries.

Key Responsibilities:

Google Ads (main priority)

  • Manage and optimise Google Ads campaigns (Search, plus Remarketing and Display where they add value).
  • Conduct keyword research and maintain keyword and negative keyword lists focused on high-converting, local-intent searches.
  • Monitor performance and adjust bids, budgets, targeting and schedules.
  • Write and A/B test ad copy and recommend landing page improvements to lift conversion rates.
  • Set up, check and maintain conversion tracking for calls, form submissions and other key actions.

SEO and Keyword Tracking

  • Carry out keyword research and track rankings for target keywords, with a focus on local search in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne, Victoria.
  • Complete an initial technical and content audit of the website and prioritise fixes.
  • Make on-page SEO updates (titles, meta descriptions, headings, content and internal links) and basic WordPress edits.
  • Optimise and maintain our Google Business Profile.

Reporting

  • Provide a weekly report covering leads, cost per lead, conversion rate, spend, rankings, what was changed and recommended next steps.

  • Join a fort-nightly video call to review results and plan the next fortnight.

  • Hands-on experience managing Google Ads accounts personally, ideally for local or service-based businesses. This is the essential requirement.

  • Hands-on experience in both Google Ads and SEO/keyword work is preferred. Candidates who are particularly strong in Google Ads but have less SEO experience will also be considered.

  • Case studies or references from real accounts you have personally managed, including spend, leads, cost per lead and results. Screenshots or read-only account access may be requested for verification.

  • Experience setting up conversion tracking for calls and forms (Google Ads, Google Analytics 4, Google Tag Manager).

  • Working knowledge of SEO tools (such as Google Search Console and a keyword or ranking tool) and WordPress.

  • Strong analytical and reporting skills, with the ability to explain results in plain language.

  • Excellent written English and the ability to work independently and make strategic recommendations.

  • Experience with Australian businesses or local search preferred.

  • A relevant marketing qualification is a plus, but verifiable results matter most.

Personal Attributes

  • Results-focused and profit-minded, not focused on clicks or vanity metrics.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented and a clear communicator.
  • Treats our advertising budget as if it were their own.

Engagement Terms

  • Part-time: approximately 20 hours per week, with more time in the first month if needed for the account review, tracking setup and website audit. As a guide, about two-thirds of the time will go to Google Ads and one-third to SEO.
  • Expected response time: within one business day, with some overlap with Melbourne business hours for fort-nightly calls.
  • Fee: approximately $1,000 AUD per month (final fee and contract arrangements to be agreed through interview), in addition to ad spend.
  • The Google Ads account, Google Analytics and website admin remain in the client’s’ name, with client’s retaining admin access at all times.
  • Start date: as soon as possible.

Key Performance Indicators

  • Reduce cost per lead from the current $65–$70 to $55–$60 within 90 days and $45–$50 within 6 months. Results will be judged against market movement, as Australian Google Ads click costs have risen year on year.
  • Increase Google Ads leads from the current average of about 50 per month to 55–60 within 90 days and 65–75 within 6 months, at similar ad spend. Quiet months (currently around 15–18 leads) will be compared with the same month in the previous year, as demand is seasonal.
  • Tracking of calls and forms verified and working from Week 2.
  • Website audit completed in the first month, with a target keyword list agreed.
  • Improved rankings for agreed target keywords and growth in organic traffic over 6 months.
  • Weekly reports delivered on time with clear recommendations.

Paid Test Task (Shortlisted Applicants)

Applicants will be given read-only access to our Google Ads account and website and asked to provide, within 3–5 days:

  • The three biggest problems they would fix in the first 30 days in Google Ads, with reasons and supporting numbers from the account.
  • Any issues with conversion tracking for calls or forms.
  • The three most important SEO issues or opportunities they can see on the website.
  • A proposed 30-day action plan, including the changes they would make first and how they would measure success.
  • Any questions they would ask before making changes.

Work Arrangement & Expectations:

This is a remote role that will be set up as an independent contractor engagement.

To ensure alignment and transparency, successful candidates will be expected to:

  • Disclose any existing ongoing roles or client work
  • Reflect this engagement on their LinkedIn profile (clearly marked as “Independent Contractor”)
