Job Description
As part of the COO function of ElectraLink and reporting into the Head of Business Improvement, the PMO Manager role will be responsible for the successful governance and support of the end-to-end delivery of ElectraLink projects.
You will have an excellent knowledge of project management methodologies e.g. SCRUM & Agile, appropriate for technology and business-based projects along with excellent knowledge of Portfolio and Resource management, governance and reporting.
You will be responsible for all elements of governance and reporting required to deliver a portfolio of projects across ElectraLink. This will specifically include reporting project delivery and financial status, resource usage (actual and planned) and any high-level risks. You will be responsible for co-ordinating all project reporting, identifying risks to portfolio delivery and recommending mitigating actions to the Head of Business Improvement, the COO or the Senior Management Team (as part of the monthly Portfolio Board meeting).
The PMO Manager will build and maintain effective working relationships across the ElectraLink business (especially with Project Managers and Heads of Department whose resources work on projects) and also with external parties as required, ensuring collaborative working across all teams.

What you'll do
- Ensure effective resource and financial governance across ElectraLink’s project portfolio, supporting all Project Managers in the timely delivery of their respective projects.
- Provide understanding and oversight of resource capacity across the portfolio by identifying, reporting and managing risks as they appear, including escalation to resource owners and the senior management team as needed.
- Have a clear summary of project finances (working with the Finance team) across the portfolio; identifying & reporting and issues, resolving them where possible and escalating them as needed.
- Provide governance support to project managers, ensuring that they are fulfilling the appropriate management and reporting of tasks, outcomes, risks, issues and mitigating actions.
- Create and deliver all portfolio reports to the wider leadership team (Heads of Department and the SMT).
- Work with the Product Management functions and all resource owners to find the optimum balance for resource usage on projects, both live and planned in the project pipeline, to ensure alignment.
- Build strong productive working relationships, and provide effective, communication at all levels.
- Promote & champion the benefits of Project Management within ElectraLink.
You will need
- Demonstrable PMO management skills & strong experience – e.g. portfolio, financial and resource management
- Experience working as a Project Manager is highly preferable – demonstrable track record in the delivery of projects on time and to budget.
- Highly organised and able to manage, prioritize and complete multiple tasks.
- An understanding of project finances and maintaining the necessary relationships with the Finance Team.
- Outstanding collaboration skills and a strong team player.
- Strong written & oral communication skills, as are skills in providing a suite of reporting to different levels of staff to aid decision making
- Track record of various experience in Programme and Projects Management methodologies, including Agile, Waterfall, SCRUM, DSDM etc..
- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential.
Highly desirable skills:
- Experience operating PMO governance in a supportive and enabling way in a small organisation, or in a flexible and fluid environment.
