Job Description
As a Level Artist at Ubisoft Montreal, you will create immersive and memorable 3D environments. You will assemble and position visual elements to support environmental storytelling, enhance the game's atmosphere, and enrich the player experience.
Whether for a level, a side mission, or an open-world section, you will contribute to bringing cohesive and personality-rich game spaces to life. With your artistic sense, you will know how to play with lighting, composition, and details to create visually striking scenes while respecting the technical constraints and artistic direction of the project.
What You Will Do
- Collaborate with level designers and art direction to understand the game vision
- Conduct artistic research and gather relevant visual references
- Place proxies and communicate modeling and texturing needs to art teams
- Balance artistic objectives and technical constraints
- Integrate and assemble assets in Unreal to create polished and immersive environments
- Adjust lighting, composition, and visual details to enhance atmosphere and scene readability
- Verify content consistency with art direction and gameplay needs
- Test, adjust, and improve environments to ensure a smooth experience for players
Qualifications
What You Bring to the Team
- Proficiency in 3D software such as Maya or 3ds Max
- Good understanding of real-time optimization techniques and experience with Unreal
- Knowledge of artistic fundamentals such as lighting, composition, and color theory
- Experience in modeling, texturing, lighting, or image processing
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
- Excellent communication skills
- Curiosity, adaptability, and initiative
- Attention to detail and interest in creating immersive environments
