Position Overview
The City of Henderson announces an examination to create an eligibility list and to fill one (1) vacancy for the classification of Community and Neighborhood Programs Grant Specialist (Funded by Special Revenue) in the Department of Community and Neighborhood Programs. The eligibility list may be utilized to fill vacancies for this classification for up to one (1) year.
Under general supervision, performs technical and administrative work in support of the City of Henderson’s Department of Community and Neighborhood Programs; and performs related duties as assigned.
NOTE: This is a grant-funded position. Funding for this position is currently approved, and continuation of this position is subject to ongoing grant funding. Upon the expiration of grant funds, the position will be eliminated and the employee taking this position will have rights as outlined in the “reduction in force” language in the applicable contract or civil service rules.
Salary and Benefits:
- Competitive Salary Range of $71,570.66 - $107,355.98 annually; salary placement for non-represented positions is based on a comprehensive compensation review and takes into consideration the candidate's qualifications as well as internal equity*

- The City of Henderson requires employees to reside in the state of Nevada with the capability of reporting to an on-site location timely, if required
- Four (4)-Day, 38-hour workweek (Monday to Thursday)
- The expected schedule for this position is Monday - Thursday, 7:30am - 5:30pm
- This position may be eligible for remote work
- Work schedules and remote work opportunities are subject to change.
- This option for remote work is only available for incumbents who have completed their probation or qualifying period

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in public administration, business administration, or a closely related field
- Three (3) years of full-time professional experience in contract administration, grant compliance, and community development project coordination
- Note: An equivalent combination of related education, experience, and training may be considered
- Must possess and maintain a valid Nevada or “border state” driver’s license, as defined by NRS 483
- Desirable: Experience in the development of multi-family affordable housing and low-income populations
