Essential Job Functions

  • Develops, maintains, and modifies application programs, under supervision, according to program specifications by coding, testing and debugging, and following all aspects of the software development life cycle.
  • Assists in developing work plans and technical documents covering system architecture, conversion, integration, testing, and implementation for a system or complex enhancement to a system.
  • Meets with business customers to gather business requirements according to required specifications.
  • Performs quality assurance testing, under supervision, for application development/modification.
  • Troubleshoots application problems.
  • Writes and executes programs that manipulate data.
  • Reviews technical documents, and user manuals.
  • Installs application software.

Requirements

REQUIREMENTS TO QUALIFY:

OPTION I: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree* in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a closely related field**.

OPTION II: Two (2) years of recent***, full-time experience coding, testing, and debugging one or more application systems.

LICENSE:

A valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions.

PHYSICAL CLASS:

Physical Class 2 – Light: This class includes administrative and clerical positions requiring light physical effort that may include occasional light lifting to a 10-pound limit and some bending, stooping, or squatting. Considerable ambulation may be involved.
