As an Online Programmer at Ubisoft Montreal, you will contribute to the creation and support of the online services necessary for the success of a new intellectual property. You will design, develop, and maintain client-side and backend online systems that allow players to connect and interact in a reliable, scalable, and high-performance environment. In collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, you will also participate in improving continuous integration and deployment tools to provide a smooth and stable gaming experience.
What you will do
- Gather requirements from teams and propose solutions adapted to the game's systems and features
- Design, develop, and maintain client-side and backend online systems
- Collaborate with production and programming teams to ensure the reliability, performance, and maintainability of online services
- Develop and improve tools for monitoring, observing, and recording service performance and availability
- Implement and optimize continuous integration and continuous deployment practices and tools
- Participate in the evolution of service architecture to support the game's growth
- Fix technical issues and optimize existing systems
- Contribute to the improvement of development processes and practices
- Collaborate with different departments to ensure seamless integration of online services
- Support the stability and resilience of the game's online ecosystem
Qualifications
What you bring to the team
- Proficiency in Go and C++ programming languages
- Experience using Unreal Engine 5 or a similar game engine
- Experience developing backend systems and features for AAA games
- Experience designing and maintaining REST APIs
- Experience working with cloud services such as AWS
- Experience designing databases adapted to the needs of online services
- Ability to communicate effectively in French and English, both orally and in writing, to collaborate with global teams and partners
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams on shared projects
