Job Summary

The ideal candidate will develop, manage, and maintain the health of multiple supply chains across various commodities. They will use strong technical skills and supplier relationship management to proactively identify and mitigate risks. This role is highly strategic and requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to strengthen supply chain resilience, improve operational efficiency, and support long-term organizational growth.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • With limited direction, this position exercises considerable latitude in identifying, evaluating, developing and administering supplier activities, projects, programs and/or performance.
  • Participates in the development of policies and procedures and monitors supplier activities and performance metrics to ensure Company processes, procedures and standards are in compliance.
  • Performs site visit of suppliers to evaluate logistical and performance capabilities. This will require moderate travel on a regular basis.
  • Represents the organization as the primary contact with internal business groups and external suppliers.
  • Ability to interface effectively with all levels of internal customers and be able to communicate well with the highest positions at all of our strategic suppliers.
  • Primary contact and maintains professional relationship with internal business groups and external suppliers
  • Provides direction and training to professional, technical or staff and makes presentations as required.
  • Will respond to supplier visit requests (to GA) and, if appropriate, set up internal meetings with the cognizant GA people invited.
  • Will set up and facilitate purchased material status meetings, keeping action items and monitoring results.

Job Qualifications

  • Typically requires a Bachelors in Business Administration or related discipline and at least six years of progressively complex experience in project administration. May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education.
  • We are seeking a technically savvy and competent individual, preferably with a degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering, who has supply chain experience.
  • Demonstrates technical expertise and application of program management principles, concepts, and practice as well as program management and leadership skills including organizing, planning, scheduling, and coordinating workloads to meet established deadlines or milestones.
  • Must have a basic understanding of supplier administration, supply chain, purchasing, material management, production and/or material control practices, concepts, principles and regulations; and, experience demonstrating a broad application of those principles, concepts, and practices.
  • Must possess the ability to provide leadership in developing and communicating new concepts; apply them accurately throughout an evolving environment; organize, schedule and coordinate multiple work phases; determine the appropriate approach at the task or project level; and, provide innovative solutions to a range of complex problems.
  • Must have excellent communication, computer, documentation, presentation and interpersonal skills; ability to work independently and  lead a team; capable of representing the organization as the prime contact and, provide leadership to less experienced professional and support employees on projects.
  • Must be customer focused and possess:
    • the ability to identify issues, analyze and interpret data and develop innovative solutions to a variety of complex matters of diverse scope and nature
    • the analytical ability to read and understand technical instructions, drawings and specifications.
  • Must be able to communicate and interface effectively with all levels of technical personnel excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to accurately document, report, and present findings to a variety of audiences including management and outside representatives
  • The capability to lead in a team environment and possess excellent interpersonal skills to influence and guide all levels of employees and external representatives
  • The ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Knowledge of computer operations and software applications pertinent to the functional area; working knowledge of quality assurance and production planning
  • The ability to work extended hours
  • Ability and willingness to obtain and maintain a Secret DoD clearance.
