Job Description
The Assistant Director, Admissions is responsible for coordinating and supporting recruitment, admissions, and enrollment activities for multiple undergraduate and graduate health sciences programs. This position serves as a primary point of contact for prospective students throughout the admissions process and works collaboratively with faculty, academic leadership, and university offices to ensure a seamless applicant experience. The Assistant Director, Admissions promotes the institution’s health sciences programs, supports enrollment goals, and assists in the implementation of recruitment strategies designed to attract a diverse and highly qualified student population.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Recruitment and Outreach
- Develop and implement recruitment strategies for undergraduate and graduate health sciences programs.
- Represent the institution at recruitment events, college fairs, virtual information sessions, open houses, and professional conferences.
- Build and maintain relationships with prospective students, academic advisors, community colleges, healthcare organizations, and partner institutions.
- Conduct outreach to prospective undergraduate and graduate students through phone, email, virtual meetings, and in-person interactions.
- Respond to inquiries from prospective students in a timely and professional manner.

- Assist in developing recruitment materials, presentations, and digital communications.
- Support strategic enrollment initiatives to increase applicant yield and program visibility.
Admissions and Application Management
- Review and process applications for assigned undergraduate and graduate programs.
- Evaluate applicant materials for completeness, eligibility, and compliance with institutional and program-specific requirements.
- Monitor applicant progress and communicate application status, admissions requirements, deadlines, and next steps.
- Coordinate with faculty admissions committees and program directors regarding applicant review and admissions decisions.
- Maintain accurate admissions records and applicant data within the admissions CRM and student information systems.
Applicant Support and Customer Service
- Provide accurate and timely information regarding program requirements, admissions criteria, tuition, prerequisite coursework, and enrollment procedures.
- Provide individualized guidance to applicants throughout the admissions process.
- Support admitted students through onboarding and transition activities to improve enrollment yield and student engagement.
- Deliver high-quality customer service while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
Collaboration and Administrative Support
- Work collaboratively with academic departments, advisors, and faculty.
- Participate in admissions committee meetings and recruitment planning activities.
- Ensure compliance with institutional policies, accreditation standards, and applicable federal and state regulations.
Performs other duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position. Hybrid working environment with both in office and remote work each week. Periodic local travel for recruitment activities. Occasional evening and weekend work required during peak recruitment periods and special events.
