Job Description

The Milken Institute School of Public Health, part of George Washington University, is seeking an Assistant Director, Admissions Operations to oversee the student application process, assist with recruitment initiatives, and support student engagement efforts. Reporting directly to the Associate Director, Admissions Operations & Enrollment, this position plays a key role in driving enrollment growth, engagement, and strategy for the school. Ultimately, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in directly impacting the school's enrollment growth, engagement, and overarching strategy.

Application Management (on campus and online)

  • Improve processes and implement more efficient and effective ways to manage applications. Review applications for admissibility and completeness.
  • Maintain responsibility for the overall management of application documents.
  • Utilize Slate CRM for application management through the creation of queries, reports, and workflows.
  • Document and standardize processes and procedures for application management (proper procedure protocol).
  • Manage decision notifications to all applicants using the Technolutions Slate CRM database.
  • Collaborate with the Associate Director to improve operational processes and admissions reporting.
  • Uphold GW values and goals by maintaining the integrity of the application process.
  • Continuously improve application processing to enhance customer service.
  • Manage the petition process for readmissions and concentration changes (over 200 per year).
  • Manage international student visa processing, auditing, and conducting outreach for the I-20 process and supporting international students through the start of classes.
  • Oversee hiring responsibilities for GA/GRA/GTA positions within the school, including building out and maintaining process guides and manuals.
    • Work with departments school-wide to hire and audit student workers each term.
    • Work closely with Financial Aid to track and monitor hires and manage insurance.

Recruiting and Other

  • Learn about all programs at GWSPH and effectively recruit prospective students using key program facts.
  • Represent GW at on- and off-campus events for both graduate and dual-degree students.
  • Lead recruiting strategy and efforts to increase dual-degree enrollment.
  • Lead on-campus tours for prospective students.
  • Understand and interpret recruitment funnel metrics to glean insights and make strategic recommendations.
  • Use data to create, interpret, and uphold policies and procedures for best practices.
  • Support all recruiting efforts during peak season as needed, including but not limited to Admitted Students Day, orientations, campus visits, outreach efforts, graduation, and other student events.

Administrative

  • Lead the hiring process for admissions student employees (posting, onboarding).
  • In conjunction with the Associate Director, perform regular audits of all three information systems.
