Job Description
As a Cybersecurity Specialist in Detection Engineering at Ubisoft Montreal, you will help evolve our detection engineering capabilities through automation, cloud technologies, and detection-as-code practices. In collaboration with security operations, incident response, platform engineering, and development teams, you will participate in creating scalable and maintainable detection solutions to improve the reliability and efficiency of security operations on a global scale.
What you will do
- Evaluate log sources, telemetry streams, and enrichment data to analyze their quality and coverage
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain detection rules, technical frameworks, and supporting technologies
- Contribute to the adoption of detection-as-code practices using version control and modern development methods
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate the validation, testing, deployment, and lifecycle management of detection content
- Create integrations and workflows using APIs, SIEM platforms, EDR solutions, cloud services, and data repositories
- Develop automation solutions to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual tasks
- Collaborate with security operations and incident response teams to improve detection coverage and investigation capabilities
- Develop reusable tools, libraries, and technical frameworks to support detection engineering initiatives
- Apply secure coding practices, testing strategies, and quality controls throughout the development lifecycle
- Stay informed on emerging technologies and contribute to infrastructure automation and platform engineering initiatives
Qualifications
- Experience in software engineering, DevOps, platform engineering, site reliability engineering, or roles focused on automation
- Proficiency in Git-based workflows and source code management practices
- Experience in developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
- Ability to program or automate with languages such as Python, Go, PowerShell, or JavaScript
- Experience in integrating platforms and services via APIs
- Good understanding of software development practices, testing methodologies, and secure coding principles
- Experience with cloud platforms, containerized environments, and infrastructure technologies
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Approach complex technical challenges with a collaborative and pragmatic mindset
- Adapt to evolving technologies and contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and systems.
