Job Description

The Service & Team:

This role will be part of the countywide Early Years Inclusion and SEND Team. However you will have close links with health visiting and Speech and Language Teams to ensure an holistic approach to early identification and support for children 0-5 with additional needs. This role is part of the Best Start in Life work to support Home Learning.

The Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a collaborative, community-focused approach. You will:

  • Deliver targeted speech, language and communication interventions for young children (0–5 years)
  • Support the delivery of training and modelling strategies for early years practitioners and families
  • Work closely with Family Hubs, early years settings and community partners
  • Contribute to creating inclusive environments that promote communication development
  • Provide practical advice and strategies to parents, carers and professionals

This position will be subject to a enhanced criminal record disclosure check.

Working Pattern:

This post will be for 29.6 hours per week across term time. It is a fixed contract for three years.

What you’ll need to succeed:

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working with young children in an early years or SEND setting
  • Has a strong understanding of speech, language and communication development
  • Is confident delivering interventions and modelling good practice
  • Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Is able to work independently across a locality, as well as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Is committed to improving outcomes for children and reducing inequalities
