What you will do
This programmer will be responsible for everything related to technologies concerning NPC behaviors:
• Shared responsibility for the maintenance, debugging, and improvement of everything related to NPC behaviors, including:
- Combat, as well as coordination and collaboration between NPCs.
- Systemic NPC reactions to various elements (fire, poison, etc.) and any other significant in-game events.
- Development of unique behaviors specific to different NPC archetypes.
- Improving the readability and credibility of NPCs, with a particular focus on animation.
• Develop in C++ and with Behavior Trees, both to create AI behaviors and to develop reliable, user-friendly nodes for end-users.
• Demonstrate a solid understanding of AI and game design, with a strong focus on quality. We expect team members to play the game regularly, provide feedback, and iterate autonomously on the features they are responsible for.
• Be comfortable working in close collaboration with animators and the systems they use.
• Proactively inform the AI leadership team of any potential unidentified work, such as missing features or performance issues, and then actively contribute to their resolution.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, or other equivalent training or experience.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in C++ programming in the video game industry, embedded systems, or other relevant fields.
- Proficiency in C++.
- A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or equivalent.
- Experience in console design.
