Based in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, with close collaboration across European markets (German and English required)

Our client is an established mobility and payments company operating across Europe, connecting fleet operators with one of the continent’s largest networks of on-road service providers – spanning fuel, tolling, e-charging, parking and truck-wash – all accessible through a single platform. Backed by major international energy-sector shareholders and active in markets from Portugal to Norway, the business is now looking for a Client Account Manager to help shape and execute its client strategy.

The role sits at the centre of the client relationship, acting as the key liaison between enterprise partners and the organisation’s internal teams. The ideal candidate will take ownership of a portfolio of client accounts – from onboarding through renewal – ensuring project delivery, performance and satisfaction stay consistently high.

Responsibilities as a Client Account Manager:

As a Client Account Manager, you will work closely with both clients and internal teams. Your day-to-day tasks will contain:

  • Serving as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of clients, ensuring they feel supported and valued throughout the partnership.
  • Building trust and long-term collaboration through transparency and responsiveness, while identifying opportunities for account growth.
  • Reviewing and managing client contracts – handling initial negotiations, overseeing compliance, and ensuring agreed terms are met for both existing clients and new onboarding.
  • Defining, establishing and monitoring performance metrics relevant to each client account.
  • Tracking deliverables against timelines, budgets and quality standards, coordinating closely with internal teams to keep projects on course.
  • Driving accountability across projects to ensure they deliver optimal value and meet client expectations.
  • Gathering feedback from clients and internal stakeholders to refine strategies and improve service delivery.
  • Introducing new processes, tools or approaches to strengthen project outcomes and client satisfaction.
  • Continuously adapting to evolving client needs, keeping relationships dynamic and forward-looking.
  • Acting as the escalation point for client concerns or project challenges.
  • Identifying root causes of issues, collaborating with stakeholders, and implementing fair, effective solutions in the best interest of both client and company.

Qualifications/Required Skills for an ideal Client Account Manager:

An ideal candidate for the Client Account Manager role will need to meet most of these requirements:

  • At least three years of proven experience and a successful track record as a Client Account Manager, Project Manager, or in a similar role.
  • Excellent communication skills, with strong negotiation and stakeholder management ability.
  • A natural relationship manager, with the organisational talent and teamwork to keep multiple accounts running smoothly.
  • Solid project management expertise, with the ability to prioritise effectively across competing demands.
  • Fluent in German and English to a professional business standard.
  • Adaptable and able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where priorities shift.
  • Empathetic, with a deep understanding of client needs and a genuine focus on delivering value.
  • A strong problem-solver, able to identify and resolve complex issues both independently and collaboratively.
  • A clear sense of ownership and accountability, with a proactive, results-oriented approach to project and client success.
