About the team

The Maintenance Planning and Specification team plays a critical role in maximising the performance, reliability and lifecycle value of the City's community asset portfolio. As part of the Infrastructure Lifecycle Planning and Performance branch, we provide tactical maintenance planning, maintenance strategy development, asset performance monitoring, asset assessment oversight and data-driven insights to support informed decision-making.

Working across a diverse portfolio of community facilities and infrastructure, we partner with Service Gold Coast and maintenance delivery teams to ensure maintenance programs are prioritised, optimised and aligned to asset lifecycle objectives, customer expectations and long-term service outcomes.

About the role

This role provides strategic oversight of maintenance performance and planning outcomes across the City’s community asset portfolio through the analysis, interpretation and application of asset and maintenance data.

Working closely with stakeholders, you will lead the development of meaningful insights, performance reporting and predictive analytics to identify trends, risks and opportunities that support maintenance strategy development, lifecycle optimisation, performance improvement and informed decision making.

Key responsibilities include:

• Lead the analysis of maintenance performance, condition and maintenance lifecycle data to identify trends, risks and improvement opportunities.
• Develop and maintain reporting frameworks, performance measures and data visualisations to support strategic decision-making.
• Provide strategic, evidence-based insights to optimise maintenance programs, improve asset reliability, maximise lifecycle value and inform maintenance expenditure decisions.
• Support tactical maintenance planning and specification development through predictive analysis, modelling and performance forecasting.
• Monitor maintenance performance, service levels and asset outcomes to inform future maintenance strategies and organisational objectives.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across Asset Management, Service Gold Coast and maintenance delivery teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Lead initiatives to improve data quality, reporting capability and business processes across maintenance operations.
• Provide technical leadership and strategic guidance to team members and stakeholders on data-driven initiatives and asset performance outcomes.

We are seeking a highly analytical and strategically minded professional with demonstrated experience in maintenance planning, asset management, infrastructure performance or business intelligence. You will have a proven ability to transform complex data into meaningful insights, measurable outcomes and practical recommendations that support strategic maintenance lifecycle-decision making.

We’re looking for people who have:

• Extensive experience working in facilities management, asset management or maintenance planning.
• Extensive experience in Computerised Maintenance Management systems(CMMS), asset management systems or similar enterprise platforms.
• Demonstrated ability to analyse and interpret complex maintenance and asset data, translating insights and trends into measurable business outcomes, performance improvements and evidence-based maintenance strategies.
• Significant experience in performance reporting, forecasting, predictive modelling and data-driven decision-making within a maintenance, facilities or asset management environment.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and enterprise asset management systems, including complex formulas, modelling, data analysis, visualisation, automation and reporting.
• Proven ability to develop and present reports, metrics and initiatives to influence operational and strategic outcomes
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information and influence decision-making across a diverse range of stakeholders
• Demonstrated ability to develop practical recommendations and improvement initiatives that deliver measurable maintenance and performance outcomes.
• Ability to efficiently plan, prioritise and manage competing priorities in a complex operational environment
• Knowledge of asset management principles, maintenance lifecycle planning and performance-based decision-making.
• Leadership experience, including providing technical leadership, mentoring or guidance to teams and stakeholders (desirable)
• Cert III Trade Qualification (desirable)
• Australian Drivers Licence Class C Unrestricted.
• Familiarity with relevant regulations, codes, and standards related to building maintenance and safety.
