We are excited to offer a unique growth opportunity for an experienced Buyer within the Engineering Organization. We are looking for a driven, organized, and experienced procurement professional to join the Project Control Group within the Mechanical Engineering Department of GA-ASI. The Project Control Group acts as the spearhead for Engineering requirements collaboration in project planning and execution activities. Business processes include those required to identify and support Design and Development planning and execution activities. The Project Administrator will support engineering project procurements, advocate for competition, and represent engineering to the Procurement Organization. Within this role, they will have the opportunity to network with others, communicate regularly with leadership, compile data for SOWs, help shape group processes, and contribute to the creation of tools.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Exercising judgement within generally defined precedents and policies, participates in developing plans to ensure that activities achieve desired results, initiates project(s), and participates in development of project design and schedule to meet overall objectives.
Essential Functions:
- Administer daily operational aspects of one or more ongoing projects; participates in project plan development, design, and schedule.
- Integrates and analyzes project plans to ensure milestones and delivery requirements are met; ensures that all the key parties are advised.
- Analyzes data and situations and develops solutions with project manager, functional planning leads, and engineering staff; influences and guides on actions to be taken.
- Develops appropriate electronic and hard copy reports and records.
- Represents the organization n as a prime contact with outside organizations, especially Procurement; may make internal and external presentations as required.
- Provides direction to less experienced professional staff.
- Maintains strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
- As the representative for Mechanical Engineering and Project Control interests, collaborate with Procurement and Design Assurance to best align business practices as necessary.
- Organize, prioritize, and help track through completion all new procurement requests from Mechanical Engineering.
- Periodically review and use the available resource and project planning data to make recommendations to processes, tools, dashboards, and reports
- May provide leadership and training to team on process changes, updates, or how to resolve recurring issues.
- Responsible for observing all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
- Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices. Additional Functions other duties as assigned or required.

Job Qualifications
- Typically requires a bachelors degree in Business Administration or a related discipline and ten or more years of progressive professional project administration experience. Equivalent professional experience may be substituted in lieu of education.
- Must demonstrate a broad understanding of project administration principles, theories, concepts and techniques.
- Must have experience organizing, planning, scheduling, conducting, and coordinating work assignments to meet project milestones or established completion dates.
- Must possess the ability to understand new concepts quickly and apply them in an evolving environment while contributing to the development of new processes.
- Must be customer focused and posses the ability to identify issues, analyze data and develop solutions to a variety of complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and innovation.
- Strong analytical, verbal and written communication skills to accurately document, report, and present findings.
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment is essential as is the ability to work extended hours as required.
- Must be a self-starter who understands the importance of organization and timeliness for tracking of requests, status, updates, and reoccurring tasks.
- Strong interpersonal skills to influence and guide employees, managers, customers, and other external parties in support of management and business objectives.
- Ability to multi-task and organize work assignments to meet established timetables.
- The ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Excellent computer, documentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Security clearance is required.
