Provo Parks and Recreation is hiring Wrestling Coaches for the winter 2026 season to staff the youth wrestling program within the Recreation Division. These positions are temporary and last for the duration of the listed season. Qualified, civic-minded individuals interested in supporting the recreation services provided to Provo City residents by performing in this role are encouraged to apply.

What is the compensation?

Pay Rate: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour as determined by the  candidate's level of knowledge, skill, or experience. (Payment will be made by direct deposit.)

What will I do?

  • Coach wrestling fundamentals to the Provo Recreation youth wrestling team.
  • Provide both instruction and lesson plans for program participants.
  • Oversee volunteers and all program operations as the coach at a given location.
  • Assist office staff as needed and perform other related duties as required.

What are the requirements to apply?

  • A working knowledge of wrestling fundamentals and skills/form.
  • 18 years or older to perform as coach.
  • Coaching experience is preferred.

What are the hours and duration of work?

Requires 6 to 8 hours per week. Actual schedule is dependent on facility availability and practice space access. Season starts October 20, 2026 and ends December 12, 2026.

What are the physical and environmental factors?

Requires exposure to potentially adverse weather conditions and stressful circumstances including working with the public in emotional or confrontational situations.

What is the selection process?

Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications listed above to be eligible for consideration. If selected for hire, candidate will be required to successfully pass a drug screen and criminal background check. Non-disclosure may result in dismissal. Applicants with unsatisfactory drug screen results will be ineligible for appointment or application to any Provo City position for a minimum period of six (6) months.
