Job Description

The S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University is seeking an individual to teach BDJ 312 Audio and Digital News Writing, Reporting and Producing during the Fall 2026 semester (3 credits).

The open section meets Tuesdays 12:30-2:30 and Thursdays 12:30-3:30pm .

Course Description: This course is the students’ first class devoted to reporting and it uses audio as its principal technology. The class includes field experiences, and students produce a weekly radio newscast in our production laboratories. Additionally, students learn to write web stories and use social media to report. Professors are also expected in this class to give substantive and timely feedback so that students can apply that in the next assignment/ production.
