Job Description
Getting around Québec is rarely a walk in the park: storms in winter, roadworks in summer, the crowds brought by festivals, streets with more potholes than asphalt… a tough puzzle!
At Transit, we know that none of this will be fixed with one car per person and parking lots as far as the eye can see. We dream of dazzling metro stations, trains that go fast and far, and buses that come often and on time. But between budget cuts, staff shortages and the countless obstacles that await vehicles around every bend, public transit agencies around the world have anything but an easy life. Fortunately, Transit is here to give them a helping hand!
Our app is packed with features that simplify car-free travel, and with tools that make life easier for transit network operators — from automatic detour detection to step-by-step navigation that works like a charm, including instant surveys that let users help improve their network and let agencies know what is really happening on the ground. All of this to the delight of the more than 200 networks already partnering with Transit across the planet. But what about Québec? That's where you come in!
We are looking for a person to take charge of business development in Québec: maintaining and growing our existing partnerships with transit agencies, developing new relationships with mobility stakeholders, and representing Transit in Québec's public transit ecosystem. Your mission? Introduce Transit, and everything Transit has to offer, to the right people, and bring them on board.
This is a field role: in-person visits, conferences, presentations and a lot of follow-up. You will also explore new business opportunities for Transit, beyond our usual partnerships with transit agencies, and contribute to our government relations and public policy files. And wherever you go, you will explain to skeptics how Transit could help them offer the best possible experience to their users, and give our fans the resources and arguments they need to present Transit to their colleagues.
You will be the go-to person for our Québec partners.
Does this sound like you? Want to change the world with a song and a little green app? Here is what we expect from you:
📝 Responsibilities
Under the supervision of our Chief Business Officer, maintain and grow our existing partnerships with transit agencies in Québec (in-person visits, renewal follow-ups, pending files)
Develop new relationships and business opportunities with transit agencies and other mobility partners in Québec
Represent Transit at industry conferences and events in Québec, including presentations in French

Contribute to our government relations and public policy files with organizations such as the MTQ, the ATUQ and the AQTr
✅ Required qualities and skills
Significant experience in a mobility-related role within a government agency, or in business development/partnerships at a govtech or shared mobility company
Established network of contacts in Québec's public transit ecosystem (transit agencies, ATUQ, AQTr, MTQ and other mobility organizations)
French-English bilingualism, comfortable expressing yourself in both French and English to represent Transit publicly (even though you will focus mostly on Québec, 95% of our partner agencies are located outside Québec and therefore communicate in English)
Strong writing skills, particularly for drafting persuasive responses to tenders or business proposals
Comfort with public policy and government relations issues
Autonomy and organizational skills to manage several relationships and files in parallel
Strong ability to build and maintain long-term trust-based relationships
💯 Bonus points if…

👨💻 Let's talk diversity
Public transit, more than any other mode of transport, is used mostly by women and people of color. We want to ensure this diversity is reflected in our teams. We firmly believe that including people from all backgrounds, regardless of gender, origin, sexual orientation, age or identity, will ultimately help us build a better application.
We encourage people of all ages, genders, origins and orientations to apply. If you wish to share the pronouns you use, please mention them when you submit your application.
If life has given you a unique perspective on everything related to the transportation world (mobility, accessibility, urban planning), don't hesitate to mention it. Your application will receive the attention it deserves.
